Senior Ecologist
Howard earned his M.Sc. degree in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation from Imperial College London and his research was on the dispersal behaviour of bird species in UK. Apart from his academic achievement, he has obtained a certificate in animal studies from Animal Industries Resource Centre (Australia). He worked as a part-time veterinary assistant at exotic veterinary centre for two years. With such certificate and placement opportunity, he is now experienced in exotic animals handling and identification including reptiles, amphibians and avian species.
During his undergraduate study, Howard participated in several turtle-related projects /programmes such as, University Student Sponsorship Programme (Freshwater Terrapin in India) organized by OPCFHK and Wildlife Animal Rescue Volunteer hosted by Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden. After graduation from BSc degree, he participated in a number of freshwater turtle research projects in Hong Kong, inclduing reseraches on illegal turtle trapping and tracking & capture-recapture of turtles. He also contributed to publications on freshwater turtle with Dr Y.H. Sung.
Currently, Howard is responsible for avian, herpetofauna, mammals, aquatic communities and intertidal survey at an environmental consulting company in Hong Kong. He is an experienced wildlife ecologist specialized in wild/feral animal management and control (i.e. freshwater turtle species, wild pig, cattle and buffalo).
